Introduction to DIY Floors

With many of us social distancing or self-isolating these days, we are spending a great deal of time at home. Whilst at home, it’s a good idea to make productive use of this time, by deep cleaning, throwing out old stuff and maybe even installing some new floors? If you’re sat at home all day, you might notice your floor in greater detail than when you’re busy at work, and you may now notice that it’s in dire need of a change! Depending on the floor, you don’t always need a professional fitter to install it for you. With plenty of time on your hands and a few basic tools, you can do it yourself!

Click and Lock Tools

All of the above 5 floors are installed using Click and Lock systems. This means that no glue is required and no nails are need either. You simply click pieces of laminate or luxury vinyl tile together and they lock into place, like a giant jigsaw puzzle! That being said, there are still a few basic everyday tools you will need to install these floors yourself:

  • Spirit Level
  • Safety Glasses
